In these poems, David Punter conjures up the warp and weft of our current human moment. From Poland to Mongolia and back home again to Bristol, these are poems of place where 'the Union Jack's a shroud' and of movement with 'dark faces rising on the swell'. In potent images, where we write Europe 'in blood, of course, but also in lines of wheat', he reveals the interconnections between our selfishness and greed, and the rising tides of climate change and pollution, the fleeing migrants ... These are poems which lament our human alienation, and dare to dream of a fellowship of humanity.
