Prize Draw -
2025 Open Short Story Competition -
Terms and Conditions
Eligibility
The prize draw is open to all entrants who purchase a ticket for the 2025 Open Short Story writing contest.
Entrants must be aged 18 or over and legally permitted to enter prize competitions.
It is the participant’s responsibility to confirm that they are legally allowed to enter this prize draw in their jurisdiction.
No one associated with Globe Soup is eligible to enter.
How to Enter
Entrants must purchase a valid competition entry ticket and correctly answer the skill-based multiple-choice question provided at the point of entry.
Entry allocation is based on the ticket purchased:
A ticket allowing submission of one story counts as one entry into the prize draw.
A ticket allowing submission of two stories counts as two entries, and so on, up to a maximum of three entries per participant.
Participants indicate which ticket they purchased when completing the entry form. Multiple entries are handled automatically in this way, so there is no need to submit the form more than once.
Any participant who deliberately submits the form multiple times may be disqualified from the prize draw. Accidental or duplicate submissions will be reviewed and treated as a single entry.
Only entries that meet these conditions will be included in the prize draw.
Entry Period
The prize draw opens on 25th August, 2025, and closes 23:59 (UK time) 16th Dec, 2025.
Entries received after the closing date will not be valid.
Prizes
The prize pool consists of writing-related gifts, tools, and vouchers with a combined minimum value of £1,500.
Prizes will be arranged into bundles. Each winner will be able to choose their preferred bundle on a first-come, first-served basis, with the first winner able to pick first, then the second winner, and so on until all bundles have been claimed.
The final list of prizes will be confirmed and published during the course of the competition.
No cash alternative is available. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
Selection of Winners
Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible entries after the closing date.
The draw will be conducted fairly and transparently by Globe Soup.
Winners will be notified by email within 14 days of the closing date.
If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim their prize within 14 days of notification, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to another eligible entrant.
Publicity
By entering the prize draw, winners agree that their name (and general location, e.g., city/country) may be used for the purpose of announcing the results and reasonable publicity by Globe Soup.
No competition entries or creative works submitted to the writing contest will be used in connection with the prize draw.
Data Protection
Personal data provided by entrants will be processed in accordance with Globe Soup’s Privacy Policy and used solely for the administration of the competition and prize draw.
General
Globe Soup reserves the right to amend the prize draw at any time where it becomes necessary to do so. However, we do guarantee a total prize pool worth at least £1,500.
In the event of any dispute, the decision of Globe Soup is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
This prize draw is a skill-based competition and is not a lottery, raffle, or game of chance.
