Written in a mix of English and Spanish, OLAS (waves) explores inspiring places in Latin America: from Lake Titicaca and the flooded rainforest of the Amazon, to the banana plantations and pacific breakers of Ecuador. It is also an original and personal meditation on memory, time, love and loss, inspired by a trip to Latin America undertaken on the cusp of the millennium. It is dedicated to the memory of Grizel Hester, travel companion and embodiment of 'magical realism'.
